Challenge begins!

So yesterday, after much inspiration from many health-wise bloggers, I set a goal to take 10,000 steps every day this week. This is a sad little challenge I gave myself just to jump start my healthier plan... ultimately, I have much weight to lose, many hours of exercise to complete, and real cooking to commence, but I chose to start with a small, achievable goal. I need to see success before I can move onto bigger and better ways to get healthier (such as avoiding the many mini candy bars in my office!).

I am happy to report that at 6:45pm, I already have 10,057 steps recorded on my pedometer! This required me going to the gym for the first time in over a month, which is a challenge still to come... but I am so happy that I made the right choice to go to the gym after I only had 4,000 odd steps after my full work day (too many sitting meetings). It's nice to reach the goal on day one of the week. Let's hope it continues all week. No, let me rephrase- it WILL continue all week. :)
